Chopard 5143 Bracelet Watch

The Chopard reference 5143 is an elegant 18k yellow gold jewelry watch that brings together precious stones, sculptural goldwork, and delicate proportions. The rectangular case is framed by round brilliant-cut diamonds, while deep blue sapphires punctuate each corner, creating a striking contrast against the warmth of the yellow gold. A minimalist gold dial keeps the focus on the exceptional case and bracelet construction.

Description

Chopard has a long tradition of creating watches that blur the distinction between fine jewelry and watchmaking, particularly in its ladies’ collections. Rather than treating the bracelet as secondary to the watch itself, pieces such as this reference 5143 were designed as complete compositions, with the case, gemstones, and bracelet working together as a single jewelry object.

The most distinctive element of this example is its diamond and sapphire setting. Rows of brilliant-cut diamonds trace the sides of the angular case, while geometric sapphire accents are positioned at each of the four corners. The combination gives the watch an architectural, almost Art Deco quality, particularly against the restrained yellow gold dial.

The integrated bracelet is equally considered. Constructed from multiple strands of finely worked 18k yellow gold, it has a soft, almost woven appearance that contrasts beautifully with the crisp geometry of the case. Rather than a conventional watch bracelet, it reads more like a fine gold bracelet into which the watch has been seamlessly incorporated.

The compact 14mm x 16mm case and manually wound movement allow the design to remain delicate on the wrist, while the sapphires and diamonds give it just enough presence. The result is quintessentially Chopard: refined, feminine, and unapologetically jewelry-driven.

Preserved in excellent vintage condition, this reference 5143 is a particularly beautiful example of Chopard’s decorative watchmaking, combining yellow gold, diamonds, sapphires, and an intricate integrated bracelet in a design that feels as compelling as a jewel as it does a timepiece.
